The first big problem is the emergency rule or martial law. This is imposed when there is chaos or political unrest. This is military rule when constitution is suspended.
Second big problem is Al Qaida and the Talibans. They are hiding in areas referred to as foreign areas. These areas are hard to reach and law has no reach there.
Third big problem is poverty and illiteracy. Most of the population is illiterate and poor.
Fourth big problem and actually this can be also the really the biggest problem is leadership. There hasn’t being a good sincere leader and leadership in decades. Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto (supported by USA presently for power) was the most corrupt so far, She and her husband stole 1.5 Billion Dollars from Pakistani treasury and transferred it to Swiss accounts and yes this was also proved.
There is freedom of speech practised in Pakistan now since the present leader Musharraf gave the press a lot of freedom comparatively speaking. When the masses are illiterate this freedom can actually do a lot of harm.
Localmom yes, in USA the playpan is a little bigger seemingly but I have not seen this kind of propaganda anywhere in the world like the one practised in USA. Television is nothing more than a propaganda machine.

The president of Pakistan just declared martial law, and suspended the constitution. Problems don’t get much bigger than that.
