   Taliban as many think, were not (necessarily )freedom fighters who fought against Soviets.
   Afghan taliban emerged during the afghan civil war in an effort to restore peace through Islamic laws. yes they were fundamentalist but not brutal as propagated by the west. Being strict was the necessity as Afghanistan was more like a war land than a country. so the Taliban took over by fight Ahmad Shah Masood or the Northern Alliance in 1996. The soon became popular as Talibanbecausee they were actually students from madarsas and vowed to bring peace and prosperity in the lines of Islam. It was Much Propogated By The West before the Invasion of Afghanistan To find show that it was a just cause to fight them!
   When the Us invaded Afghnaistan. A sympethatic group amongst the tribal areas of Pakistan vowed to fight the US and coallation. Later when PAkistan Army Lauched a succesful operation to liberate the region from forigners(tajik and uzbeks from taliban) an onther group rose having an ideoogy of Al-Qaida (NOT OF THE TALIBAN). they beacme enemy of Pakistan and some say that they are added bY CIA and RAW of India to destabiise Pakistan.
   IN SHORT, Taliban Of PAKISTAN are very differnt from Taliban of Afghanistan. Pakistani talabns are terrorist fighting against our Army. They just are to create anarchy, while the Afghan Taliban have a purpsoe to fight, that is toliberate their land just as their fathers liberated From USSR!
   So I Tink You Now should be able to understand the Diffrence.

   How can it be any different when the Talibans themselves don’t recognize the border and when they move freely between the two countries?
